Tile reroof around solar
Tile Relaid Around a Solar Array
A concrete tile roof with solar on it, stripped to the deck around the panel mounts, given new underlayment and battens, and relaid.
This house had a concrete tile roof with a solar array on the main slope. The tile was sound enough to reuse in places, but what kept the water out was under it. These photos follow the job from the bare deck to the finished roof. We do the roofing on jobs like this; we don't do solar electrical work.

Down to the deck
The old tile came off and was stacked along the slope, and the old underlayment was stripped. The solar mounts stay where they are, standing up off the bare deck, so the new layers can be worked around each one.

Battens and tile back on
New underlayment went down, then battens to hang the tile from. Tile went back on course by course, cut in around each mount.

New battens run across the slope with tile relaid below them and the array to the right
